Julia Burnett, an enterprising businesswoman who is nationally recognized for her unique and passionate speaking style, strives to lead an intentional, purpose-driven life.
Julia’s interests have taken her from private sector finance to nonprofit/higher education development to marketing. She is a Mary Kay Independent Senior National Sales Director, a title she earned after a solid ten years of working her way up as a consultant. Along the way, Julia fell in love with the idea of working from home and controlling her own schedule. At the same time she became increasingly passionate about transforming women’s lives through the vehicle of the business opportunity. Julia believes in developing the holistic woman.
Julia Burnett is no stranger to hard work and perseverance, but she’d be the first to tell you that she’s also grown accustomed to failure. “Willingness to fail is how you grow – it’s how you see what you’re really made of – most people don’t like to confront their weaknesses so they run away from experiences that challenge them. I’m like, ‘bring it on.’ My life’s mission is to stand before the Lord at the end of my life and for Him to say ‘you did the most with the gifts I’ve given you.’”
Julia’s Success Formula
- Mental 90%
- Skill 10%
Julia’s business training has cultivated a spirit of mental toughness, which has served her well in motherhood. A mother of three small children, Julia finds this aspect of her life one of the most challenging and rewarding. “Being a parent has brought out both the best and the worst inside me. I realize now, my mental toughness training in business is really what prepared me to be a better parent. I’m also a living example to my children of what it looks like to set goals, keep going even if you fail and how to be positive. One of my favorite Emerson quotes is:
As a highly requested trainer, Julia Burnett’s teaching style is unpretentious and relatable. “90% of success is mental, 10% is skill. So I spend most of my teaching time on the mental part.” Much of Julia’s teaching and coaching style focuses on training the mind to dwell on healthy truth-based thoughts with the same intensity of a marathon runner. “Anytime I took a large leap in my career, I could correlate it to the growth of my faith, what books I was reading, and what thoughts I proactively chose to dwell on.”
